India's most romantic city, Udaipur is a historical centre for artists and musicians and home of ancient palaces including the world famous Lake Pichola Floating Palace. Enjoy Rajasthani folk dancing, explore bustling markets and soak up history at the beautiful historical City Palace and the hilltop Monsoon Palace.


Wander through the 13th Century Jain Temples in the Aravali Hills Range and a enjoy delicious thali lunch cooked by Jain monks.


Sip on a lassi and admire views of the colossal Mehrangarh Fort. Wander among colourful saris and sparkling bangles in the Sadar Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in India. Learn to cook traditional Rajasthani cuisine in a cooking lesson with our family friends.

Setrawa Village

Enjoy an overnight desert safari where you can ride a camel, eat local specialties by the camp fire, visit a local village school, and sleep under a blanket of stars in a remote and unspoiled Rajasthani Desert Village.


Walk through the ancient bazaars of this historical and remote desert town and stay within the walls of the famous 10th Century Jaisalmer Fort


Discover spectacular views from the Red Fort and admire the elegant architecture of the legendary Taj Mahal of Agra


Walk the ghats of the Ganges for a heady experience and see the city from the water in the holy city of Varanasi. A local expert guide will escort you through this intriguing city.


Relax on the beautiful coastline of Goa in between trips to local markets and historical townships. Learn to cook world-famous Portuguese Goan cuisine.

Holi Festival of Colours:

For our March departures we are fortunate to be able to celebrate this vibrant and joyous Hindu festival with our close Rajasthani friends in their family home.

Volunteer work:

If you are interested you will also have the opportunity to get involved in some charity work with Sambhali Trust in Jodhpur & Setrawa Village

Indian cooking lessons:

Our friends can teach you traditional Indian cookery in their home kitchens.

Luxury overnight Houseboat cruise:

Enjoy a cruise through the backwaters of Kerala in an air-conditioned houseboat with your own private bedroom and an on-board chef.

Indian Rail journeys:

Travel on world famous Indian Railways in comfortable sleeper carriages.

Market shopping:

Explore world-class bazaars selling inexpensive but unique clothes, souvenirs, shoes, jewellery and art.

Diwali Festival of Light Celebrations:

For our October departures you will experience Diwali festival of lights in holy Varanasi. The city is especially spiritual and magical at this time, when the river banks are lined with the glow of small lamps, people chant, and bathe in the river in the early hours.
Begin your day with the Ganga Snan (bath in the Ganga) ritual, followed by exploring the bustling street markets selling Diwali sweets and brightly colored clothes. On a boat ride at sunset, soak in the sight of the lamps by the shore as they slowly illuminate the dark, and the spiritual aura lent by the chants and recitals on the riverside. The festivities culminate in loud and colorful firecrackers being set off in every little lane of the city.

We will travel overland comfortably by 2nd Class sleeper trains and air-conditioned modern vans.
We will stay in comfortable local family run guest-houses and heritage properties to experience the true and authentic India.

What is the cost?

Our tours are designed to give you brilliant value for money by covering the vast majority of all your land costs while offering you flexibility about where and what you like to eat.
This tour costs USD $5995 pp twin share for friends/couples, and USD $6995 pp for single supplement (private double room). This tour seamlessly joins the 16 day North India Adventure and 15 day South Indian Odyssey by adding two domestic flights, which are included in the tour cost.

This tour requires a 30% deposit on booking and full balance to be paid 3 months before the departure date. This enables us to book and confirm all your land transport, domestic flights and accommodation.
